Three objects, one story

Build a beginning, a problem and an ending from ordinary objects.

All you need

An empty cup, cloth and book.

Use an unbreakable cup and fictional characters, not personal details.

Adapt to your child’s needs and stop if uncomfortable.

Invent a character. Say where they are and what they want.
Bring the cup into the story with a small problem, such as a missing drink.
Use the cloth or book to solve it. Explain why the solution works.
Retell in three sentences: first, then, finally. An adult listens without correcting every word.
