Make a toy bar chart

Turn a collection into a chart and ask a question it can answer.

All you need

Up to twelve large toys or drawn shapes, paper, pencil.

Use large clean toys, not tiny pieces. No surveys or personal data.

Adapt to your child’s needs and stop if uncomfortable.

Sort into vehicles, animals and other toys. Each item belongs to one group.
Count and record each total.
Draw one column per group, one square per toy, all starting on the same line.
Find the largest group and how many more it has than the smallest. Count to check.
